Now that you have bought the perfect cigar cutter, you need to know how to take good care of it. Remember that these devices still need special care in order to perform their function properly. If you don’t take good care of them, they might pose a venue for possible injury. To make sure you keep them in optimal condition, take note of the following:

1. One of the ways in which you can tell that your cigar cutter needs inspection and cleaning is when the the cigar heads appear to be shredded a little more than usual after clipping them. This means that the blades are dull and needs cleaning.

2. The buildup of an excessive amount of tar on the cutter blades is another sign that your cigar cutter is performing below the optimum. This is due to repeated use wherein the oils build up and can result to staining the cutter.

3. The points mentioned above clearly show that the neatness of the cut is hampered. Both problems can be easily fixed with one solution. Get any rubbing alcohol in your home and some cotton balls. It’s best to use cotton buds. Place some drops of rubbing alcohol on the cotton buds and wipe the stains along the cutter blades. Also make sure that the tar buildup is completely removed. After wiping the cutter, leave it to dry. After a few minutes, you are now ready to use it. Observe how clean and smooth the cut is.

4. It’s best to clean your cigar cutter once a month depending on your use. If you’re a heavy cigar smoker, you must clean it once every two weeks to make sure it performs well.

5. Keep your cigar cutter out of your children’s reach. This can be very dangerous in the hands of a child or toddler. Store them in a dry place and don’t let them get wet. It’s best to keep it with your cigar collection so it doesn’t get lost or misplaced.

6. When it’s time to replace your cigar cutter, you don’t need to buy the most expensive one to guarantee you have the best quality. Just inspect the cutters available and compare prices. You might even be able to save a couple of dollars.

No matter how well you maintain the quality of your cigar cutter, eventually the blades are going to dull. But this doesn’t justify you being lazy and not cleaning it. You can significantly prolong the life of your cigar cutter by taking good care of it.

Do you smoke cigars? Then you must know the real importance of having a cigar cutter. A cigar usually has a cap end that is rounded without the tobacco exposed, and this is the end one should always cut. If you just bite off the cap, this would result in jagged edges and make the cigar not burn evenly. Tobacco that must be smoked will be lost. In addition, it is also important to note that you must have a good quality cigar cutter to avoid any untoward injuries and one that you can use for many years. Below are some things you must look for in a cigar cutter.

A good cigar cutter is essential in order to cut a small hole. The importance of the small hole lies in the fact that you will be able to savor fully the tobacco in the cigar through the draw from that hole. Therefore, always inspect the hole made when you try out the cigar cutter.

If you’re not sure which cigar cutter to buy at the store, ask around for details. Most shops that sell cigar cutters have a salesperson well-informed about them. Find the best one that suits your taste and go with that one.

There are generally three types of cigar cutters widely available. These are the V-Cut, the Hole Punch and the Straight Cut. The choice of which among the three are dependent upon personal choice and the size of the cigar you plan on smoking.

1. The Guillotine Cutter can be a single or double blade guillotine. The double blade guillotine provides a cleaner and smooth cut on the cigar. It’s lightweight and easy to use and carry around. Also, it’s very affordable compared to the other two. This cigar is best for small ring cigars.

2. The V Cutter or Wedge Cutter resembles the guillotine cutter, but it leaves a wedge shape cut on the cigar. It doesn’t cut the cap completely and avoids cutting too deep.

3. The Punch Cutter puts a hole in the cap of the cigar and no cutting really happens. The hole punched should be large enough so that smoke is not impeded. One drawback for this type of cigar cutter is that the hole punched accumulates tar and this affects the taste and the draw. This type of cigar cutter is very small and can usually be attached to your key chain.

Any cigar smoker should have a good quality cigar cutter as part of his cigar collection. There is a wide selection to choose from either online stores or at the mall. Having a cigar cutter gives you convenience and comfort and guarantees your cigar smoking experience a pleasurable one.
