5. Keep your cigar cutter out of your children’s reach. This can be very dangerous in the hands of a child or toddler. Store them in a dry place and don’t let them get wet. It’s best to keep it with your cigar collection so it doesn’t get lost or misplaced.

6. When it’s time to replace your cigar cutter, you don’t need to buy the most expensive one to guarantee you have the best quality. Just inspect the cutters available and compare prices. You might even be able to save a couple of dollars.

No matter how well you maintain the quality of your cigar cutter, eventually the blades are going to dull. But this doesn’t justify you being lazy and not cleaning it. You can significantly prolong the life of your cigar cutter by taking good care of it.

3. The Punch Cutter puts a hole in the cap of the cigar and no cutting really happens. The hole punched should be large enough so that smoke is not impeded. One drawback for this type of cigar cutter is that the hole punched accumulates tar and this affects the taste and the draw. This type of cigar cutter is very small and can usually be attached to your key chain.
